Marjiam CFO Services focuses on assisting small and mid-sized businesses, ($4-$25M annual sales) primarily family owned and operated, that are looking for additional support beyond what their accounting firm can provide and to help the owners manage and operate their business for future growth and success.

You’re looking for: Support with Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closing of your company’s records, reconciliation, along with balance sheet and income statement assistance.

Includes the following:

• Assistance with Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Closing of the Company’s records on software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
• Review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for accuracy with the office manager/controller/person in charge of entering data.
• Review Cash reconciliations, Accounts Receivable and Payable schedules, Fixed Assets, Notes Payable, and Payroll as well as the supporting schedules to makes sure all accounts have been reconciled and are in a condition suitable for delivery to your accounting firm and tax preparer.
• Prepare standard workpaper schedules used by most accounting firms, including recording depreciation and preparing fixed assets, notes payable, and payroll schedules for the firm's review.
• Review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement with the owners prior to sending to the accounting firm.
• Meet with the Company 1-2 days per month with a minimum charge of 6 hours per day.

You’re looking for: Our CFO services, plus, more strategic guidance around 401K plans, compensation plans, training of staff, as well as general operational advice.

Includes the following:

• Review the company’s 401K plan with the owners and the company that maintains and holds the investments on behalf of the owners and the employees.
• Discuss and review compensation plans for the owners and key personnel.
• Serve as the key communicator between the owners and key personnel, such as company managers and supervisors.
• Provide training to the office manager/controller to assist with a smoother work flow.
• Provide assistance to the company controller or office manager with human resource issues.
• Assist the Company with year end tax planning in coordination with the company’s accounting firm.
• Planning an exit strategy for the owner who is looking to retire or slow down in his/her daily duties within the Organization.
• Meet with the Company 1 day per week with a minimum charge of 4 hours per day.

You’re looking for: Getting your records ready for your CPA to prepare a corporate tax return to minimize the amount of time they need to complete your return.

These services are for clients who primarily want to ensure their records are ready for their CPA to prepare a corporate tax return. We will provide a clean, well-organized, reconciled balance sheet and income statement to your accountant to make their life easier and to help avoid filing an extension.

• At or prior to the end of the year, review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for accuracy with the office manager/controller/person in charge of entering the data.
• Review Cash reconciliations, Accounts Receivable and Payable schedules, Fixed Assets, Notes Payable, and Payroll and the supporting schedules for these accounts to makes sure all accounts have been reconciled and are in a condition suitable for delivery to your accounting firm and tax preparer
• Review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement with the owners prior to sending it to the accounting firm.
• Meet with the Company prior to the end of the year with one follow up day subsequent to year end in order to timely deliver the information to the accounting firm/tax preparer.

This service is for companies that are ready to take a deep dive into their organization and plan for future growth, including a review of the past 5 years of financial information to understand the trends within the organization.  By having the owners clearly define their short-term and long-term goals, their company can move forward with a mindset towards growth and expansion. 

The retreat can also serve as a strategy and succession planning meeting to develop a blueprint for owners approaching or nearing retirement.  In this case, we would  focus on the company's continued growth goals in light of an executive retiring, and what that will look like for their company.  We will discuss selling, merging, or transferring the business to the next generation, depending on what is most comfortable for the owner and the family.
